Our commitment to community, education and the environment

Social Responsibility

Community
Strengthening our commitment to Manzanillo and the state, we are working on 9 of the 17 sustainable development goals, contributing to the community by promoting education, sport, health and wellbeing.
To date, we have provided scholarships to 200 ambulatory students, provided food to children and elderly adults, donated technological equipment to public schools, supported in the event of natural phenomena, restored sports facilities and contributed to the port community and authorities.
Education
We have first job experience programmes, contributing to the formation of future talent for Contecon, creating connections with important educational institutions in the state of Colima.
Digital development and learning tools are provided for employees, providing the possibility of management to self-training.
We have integrated a group specialised in port equipment, our internal instructors, who with their knowledge and experience contribute to the growth of the collaborator, aligned to safety and quality standards, guided by their professionalism.
Environment
We are committed to environmental protection by adhering to the legal framework established by SEMARNAT and PROFEPA. Our commitment is aligned to the standards in ISO 14001:2015 and environmental audits.
We contribute to the community and good practices by participating in environmental culture programmes, such as: beach cleaning, reforestation, turtle release, and internally with recycling campaigns.
We reinforce our responsibility with the implementation of an ecological drain that allows the entry of saline water to maintain the good health of the mangrove fringe found in our facilities, thus contributing to the preservation of the ecosystem found in the Manzanillo coastline.
Care for the vital resource, water
We maintain good practices with our employees in the care and use of water. At the same time, we have tools for the efficient use of the resource, always aligned with responsibility in the maintenance of hydraulic installations.
We have our own wastewater plant to remove contaminants in the water and reuse it for non-primary needs.
Our environmental and safety processes are designed and planned to prevent the contamination of vital resources, preventing damage to the aquifers and the ecosystem of Manzanillo.
