Contecon Manzanillo

Contecon Manzanillo, S.A. de C.V. (CMSA), is a company in charge of developing and operating the Container Terminal II (TEC II) in the North Zone of the Port of Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico; CMSA is a subsidiary of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI), a Philippine company founded in 1987.

ICTSI has a presence around the world with 34 terminals in 20 countries within the continents of Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania.

In the Americas, ICTSI has terminals in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras and Mexico.

Contract signed between API Manzanillo and Contecon Manzanillo

Construction of the terminal started

The first vessel arrived for operation

2013

Transactions were closed with a total volume of 431,297 TEU's.

2014

December

Recertification to ISO standards (9001, 14001, 28000) and OHSAS 18001 was obtained. Operations were closed with a total volume of 856,078 TEU's.

2017

June

Environmental Quality recertification and AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) certification was obtained. Operations were closed with a total volume of 946,109 TEU's.

2018

August

4 million TEU's reached

December

Despite the pandemic, it grew at a rate of 6% when the port as a whole recorded a fall of 0.3%.

2019

December

The year closed with a record 1 million TEUs operated in the same year.
